The former Augustine monastery was founded by Margrave Jan Jindřich in 1350. The whole complex was converted to Baroque form - the church by Jan Křtitel Erna and the convent and prelatura by Mořic Grimm (l8th century). The sculptural decoration to the ponrtal entrance is the work of Josef Leonard Weber from 1742-49. The statue bearing a cartouche with the Moravian emblem represents the Moravian margrave, Jan Jindřich. After 1783 the monastery prelatura became the seat for the Moravian provincial administration. Today a representative part of the former monastery servres for exhibition purposes.
